Thank you for sharing that beautiful story. For me, there is no stronger emotional intelligence given to me than that given by my dogs; this was also true when I was small. My little doxie is named Mimi (short for Mini Me). She worships me and won't let me out of her sight when I am working at home - always bringing me back to the eternal now, where she lives. Where are the wolves being poisoned? I had not heard of this. As for Defenders of Wildlife and similar groups, I am generally skeptical, based on research and personal experience. Most environmental and conservation groups I have checked out are similar to disease organizations like the American Diabetes Associaton and American Cancer Society - they do little or nothing to address the problems they base their existence and fundraising efforts on. However, I would work with any effort to stop mistreatment of wildlife.
Just got back from an all day writers' conference out on Bainbridge Island, in a beautiful old stone and log lodge complex owned by the Suquamish tribe. Some amazing speakers and workshops. The highlight of my day was the breakout with Rosina Lippi, discussing historical fiction. All about the details of culture, language, dress and artifacts that contribute to the authentic feel of good period fiction. One of my book projects is historic fiction, set in a time and place that I already have great familiarity with, and this was a wonderfully educational session.
Hello Ted, I hope this finds you well. I read something you recently wrote about being strongly connected to wolves. I too feel this intimate connection and a very vivid dream from years ago comes to mind which I'd like to share. I saw myself in wolf form laying underneath an enormous tree at the edge of a forest.
The moon was radiant and pregnant with light shining over me as I slept. I then heard my son's voice sweeping through the wind gently telling me to wake up. As I slowly drifted out of my slumber, I could see myself transforming into human form. I think it was around this time that my female dog Bianca had her pups in my kitchen and three days after they were born, I held them up to my cheeks and howled like a wolf. I know it sounds silly but I simply felt complelled to do it and within seconds they both began to howl with me. In that moment I felt a powerful bond with them and a love that transends most other feelings.
I don't know if you're familiar with Defenders of Wildlife but they need our help in a most urgent way to ban the use of cyanide and sodium fluoroacetate that they are using to destroy our wolves. Donations and signatures are needed.
Your puppy is absolutely adorable, what's her name ?

I am descended from the Durant line. Earliest intermarried was Louis Durant, who rafted down the river with his cousins Pierre and Michel LeFlore ca 1797 from Canada - so you also have a touch of French, and we are likely cousins. I met and got to know a LeFlore descendent many years ago when I was assistant director of State Parks in Calif - he was a ranger and superintendent in the system.
Yes Ted, I have some choctaw and blackfoot, german. scots Irish and Yes that makes Me a "Heinz 57" LOL THere is mention of a choctaw princess in our back ground and that am the great. great grandaughter of choctaw chief: Greenwood Lefore or Chief natchez. My great granny is gone and she smoked a pipe. I love to wear turquoise and deer skin mocs, so I reckon I'm part injun. At least I haven't gone on the war path lately. Take care, Mel

I heard one of Dr. Dosseys' lectures in Chicago several years ago and he was brilliant. Take a look at "Be Careful What You Pray For"
Lots of good scientific data and a must read for anyone interested in the power of positive and negative prayer. Equally fascinating are the experiments that Dr. Leonard Laskow conducted on cancer cells in which he adopted an attitude of unconditional love and emotional connectedness towards the cells. He then asked them to return to the natural order and harmony of ordinary cell growth. So maybe instead of hating our tumors and diseased cells, we should LOVE them to death ! :-)
I've been meaning to buy a beautifully illustrated book on the human anatomy, so I did and now I can visually see what our internal systems and organs are meant to look like in their healthy state. This should help me visualize my target. As for me,
I do my best to maintain an inner poise and harmony so that I don't succumb to random illnesses. In the last chapter of the book Dr.Dossey tells a tale of a Chinese shaman who talks about people being in "order" and in "themselves" instead of looking for outside circumstances to heal or help them. Makes sense to me !

I love Braden - I have heard him a couple of times on Coast to Coast AM. I am also fascinated with what you are describing - would love to hear more as you further develop the process. I don't recall if I told you this, but I am putting together a podcast/blog and assorted media program on healthy awareness and spiritual/nutritional approaches to health. I may want to talk to you later about what you are doing and feature your work on a program - I expect to be up and running with this w/in two or three months.

thank you for inviting me to be your friend ! I tend to do quite a bit of flying about, so please be patient if I don't always get back to you promptly. I just purchased a copy of "The Spontaneous Healing Of Belief" by Gregg Braden and after reading a few pages I felt inspired to create a parallel Universe/ reality in which I could recreate certain events and infuse them with positive experiences and emotions. I immediately got good results and now I'm curious as to what the possibilities are if I were to time travel further back into the past before negative beliefs were instilled. At a deep energetic level something has always told me that we are capable of transforming ourselves, of controlling what happens to our bodies, minds and consciousness. I had this belief as a very young child and it has served me well.
Tessa: Thank you. I am presently reading "Prayer is Good Medicine" by Dr. Larry Dossey. Are you familiar with him and his work? Remote prayer, prayer for plants, animals, bacteria and other life forms not subject to the placebo effect, are all in the book. I love it. I don't know if I mentioned it in an earlier message, but I handled a cancer issue about 11 years ago with many therapeutic approaches, principal among which were prayer, cleansing thoughts, meditation, forgiveness and the dispensing of unconditional love.
