Many years ago I was in a bad accident. I couldn't get out of bed for quite awhile. I adopted a budgie, she was so new her beak was still black. Her house used to sit on the bed beside me. So we got quite close. She got sick and I had to give her medicine, and I cuddled her when she was cold. When she got better and was learning to fly, if she fell and I went to get her she would run toward me. She would come to me if I called her. She was quite a card. There was a mantel with a mirror on it.
