My husband and I have 2 babies buried in the cemetary nearby. Every year on Memorial Day we take our flowers to the Garden Of Angels section for children where we see toys and stuffed animals and pinwheels left all around for the little ones. I always put a couple of white feathers our cockatoo has shed in with the flower arrangements. The year before last I made my arrangements of flowers and carefully added a feather to each. I went outside and stepped into the car. As I sat down and began to adjust the feathers again I thought of how I'd always loved feathers. I was feeling a mixture of gratitude and sadness when a white feather drifted into the car and landed at my feet. My Angels were sending along a feather of their own. I tucked it into the flowers and knew my babies were loved and watched over.
