Bird Tribes

A Social Nest for Angels in Human Form

Melanie Watson is definitely a rare bird. Melanie’s screenname for AOL happens to be PeacefulEagle. One who communicates with crows, her given Native American Indian name is "Talks to Crows.”

An ordained pastor of an online church, her service isn’t religious, but deeply spiritual. Melanie started the "World Family of John Denver Singers," which consists of over 100 singers who come together from all over the world to sing at a nursing home in Aspen (the late John Denver's home) each year. She volunteered at the Pikes Peak Hospice for two years and sang spirit-uplifting songs to the terminally ill.

Her jobs have included: (present) Life Skills Worker for Southern Peaks Regional Treatment Center (rehabilitation center for criminal teens), Certified Nurses Aide, Team Leader for Community Options (caring for the developmentally disabled), and para-educator for the special needs children in Cripple Creek, Colorado. She also ran her own licensed childcare for ten years.

Melanie is a prolific songwriter, with 114 songs to her credit, and is currently working on her third CD. In addition, she has three books (including one of poetry) on the market, all of which are inspirational and teach about finding hope in a struggling world.

Melanie has this message to share: “I love our Creator and I know that he wants us all to be nice and help others. I believe we are on this earth to learn, grow spiritually and keep an open heart and mind--to LISTEN to others, even though their opinions may differ from our own.”

ARE YOU A RARE BIRD?

Then please nominate yourself or someone else by sending me an email on Bird Tribes. (You must first join Bird Tribes.) Be sure to adhere to the following:

Your email should contain a well-crafted, edited, one- to two-paragraph (less than 400 words) description of yourself or the person, including the person's spiritually relevant offerings, contributions, activities, websites (URLs), philosophies, etc.

If your nomination is selected to be a Rare Bird, we will adapt this material for posting on Rare Birds and elsewhere so as to provide maximum exposure for the individual in question.

In return, we ask any individual who accepts Rare Bird status to invite his or her Ning friends network to join us on Bird Tribes. This Aquarian, win-win strategy is designed to enhance our membership and provide all of us with greater opportunities for networking and fellowship.

Please be advised that we can only have one Rare Bird per month, so your understanding is appreciated if others are chosen ahead of you.

Thanks for your interest in being recognized as a Rare Bird!
