What is your personal concept of service in these times of transition & transformation?

For me service was a destination- I want to change the world.
But what I've realized is; I need to take that down to the least common denominator...
One...
Every encounter with everyone I meet is an opportunity to be of service..
From a smile -to a greeting- to a touch., my time, my ability to be present, to listen to teach,to be an example to be present.
Our opportunitie to serve- are from what I have found- one person at a time, in this moment I can serve..
.That is how we change the world.

Every one of us needs a home.
The world needs a home.
There are so many young people who are homeless.
They may have a building to live in, but they are homeless in their hearts.

To start with eye contact and extend love. When I see service "industries" bereft of people who know how to treat othe wars in a kind way, it confuses me. Today, while n a checkout line, the checker never said one word to me throughout the transaction and spoke only to the other checker. She indicated she was tired and threw my items into a bag. She also did not give me the total, relying on me to look at the monitor to see the result. Only after I completed my electronic transaction did she ask me if I wanted to donate to a charity. She clearly had no use for me and was indifferent to my humanity.

I think service is about smiling, it is about sharing the hope for humanity. I grew up in service to others. I learned manners. I want to create a better world, not just some place we pass each other on the street an are angry and fearful.

I have hope, and faith...but at times...it is tested heavily...

That is why I am here, and I do what I do.
I leave tomorrow to work with a blossoming children's charity, in London.
Then I will come back, continue to volunteer, offer spiritual healing to others, and help mothers deliver more new, old souls onto the planet, in my own little part of the world.
There are many levels one can work on.

But I am thoroughly convinced, I am also here to squish my toes in the mud, whenever I want to.

My service in RL is dedicated to bringing light to any and all who can receive it .
I do this by being what i wish others around me to be.
My idea of service is to become what I understand myself to be .
The absolute being of light that is within , the acting from an altruistic rather than egoistic nature, the correcting of selfish desires as they arise rather than allowing it to flourish within .
Striving to become the perfection I feel at the center of being, avoiding the siren call that distracts from purpose with promises of great pleasure,
I think that is about it .
All the other stuff I do after that is just a reflection of my nature at that point so it takes care of itself.

Service is something I have often wondered about - to be of service to my Source - if I put thought into it, it seems like something I have to do which maybe I haven't yet done - so I began to realize that service is just being who I am and responding to each moment and each person as I am able to with my highest intentions - even though sometimes I fall short of what I think I "should be like". I believe compassion and forgiveness sums it all up for me. I meet many people during my daily walk in life that are not so enjoyable to be around and many that are radiantly beautiful and awesome to behold. I use as much compassion as I can when dealing with people or situations that are not so fun! Service for me, then is walking my path each day and doing my best with each encounter.

Can we start with being sober?

Can we serve through our art and yoga?

can we deal with difficult truths like the fact 911 was not an attack?

Can we get our unity back?
