Dragon sounds like it could be Quetzalcoatl, a reptile with wings, the ultimate shapeshifter.

Firebird is the typically the phoenix and exemplifies purification leading to renewal ...

Anyone else have thoughts to share?

Many years ago, I had a vision of an eagle at rest sitting atop a weathered pole. My guru, a very gifted artist, did a line drawing for me from the discription I gave him.Treasured for a long time, it has since been missplaced.To this day, I havnt a clue what the eagle vision was all about and rarely if ever have mentioned it to anyone.Visions I believe are personal although there may be universal symbols.I suspect they are the souls method of conveying to the human mind something that the mind is not yet ready to intertain.

Under your trail of thought Wendy, I went and researched my totem power animals using my native america cards framed by Earthangel traits/responsibilites. My totems items fits perfectly with my title of scribe along this current journey on Earth.

Being a writer the crow in me understand & utilized my divine power, the turkey vulture writes/speaks only of death and rebirth whereas the wolf enables me to deal with the struggles of the writer's life.

This is profound Sol...I love the idea of many worlds and many journeys.
On another note, I've always been fascinated by wolves. And I know that in Native American traditions, each animal has its own spirit (or is it totem?). Do you have any ideas you could share with me on wolves, and my fascination with them? How I can I explore this? Great read! Thanks!

Hi and thanks, Valjeane! Wolf's primary role is that of a teacher. In the words of Sams and Carson in Medicine Cards, "Wolf is the pathfinder, the forerunner of who ideas who returns to the clan to teach and share medicine." Does that ring any bells?

It does Sol, most especially the image of the wolf as a pathfinder... The wolf,plays a prominent role in my novel (thus in my psyche?) I'm very excited by this! More later, after some self reflection and re-reading the discussion (smile).

You seem very much in the know about deeper meanings of totem animal spirit cards, i have a huge blank spot myself so hope its ok to ask you about a few of the meanings as only yesterday a friend got me to do a five card reading if thats the right word? My cards one of which was the wolf also, starting with north going clockwise i had black panther, owl, wolf, crocodile and as my centre card a priary dog. I have tried to find out more but got very mixed information and you seem to really know a great deal about this. For all sorts of reasons i would love to find out more about this. Going through a real awakening , like many, right now and am trying to find out more about myself and also all that im connected with. Spend so much time and energy out in the cosmos i rarely look at this sort of thing, but i should as im getting quite a lift from looking into these things. Also i wanted to say a bit more about Shemsu-Hor, please forgive me but im running on empty at the moment but when im little frsher i will focus some time and energy to this. Just very busy being in ten places at once, all good though.

Hi, Julian! I'm really no expert across all of the totem animals. I can recommend two books on the subject that I've really loved: Medicine Cards and 2013 Oracle. These are great resources that are worth having and reading in their own right, and they may give you greater understanding into your own totem animals. Anyone else who'd like to share on this subject, please feel free to do so! :-)
