In building a viable community, it is appropriate to honor the "movers and shakers," the truly Rare Birds, that make up our community. This Bird Tribe group is designed to highlight one of our extraordinary Members each month.

Are you a Rare Bird or do you know one of our Members who is? Then please nominate yourself or someone else by sending me an email here on Bird Tribes. Be sure to adhere to the following:

Your email should contain a well-crafted, edited, one- to two-paragraph (less than 400 words) description of yourself or the person, including the person's spiritually relevant offerings, contributions, activities, websites (URLs), philosophies, etc.

If your nomination is selected to be a Rare Bird, we will adapt this material for posting here on Rare Birds and elsewhere on Bird Tribes so as to provide maximum exposure for the individual in question.

In return, we ask any individual who accepts Rare Bird status to invite his or her Ning friends network to join us here on Bird Tribes. This Aquarian, win-win strategy is designed to enhance our membership and provide all of us with greater opportunities for networking and fellowship.

Leigh, thanks for this idea. I sent you my bio for consideration for Rare Bird, but sent it to you personally, I hope you receive it and that I sent it to the right place.
This is such a great idea!!! Very positive and I believe people in the world learn by example setting, and this will bring to light what others have done and hopefully inspire others.

Leigh,,, very good idea,,, but just maybe for others to nominate a person or a concept,,, I myself, feel that it would be selfish of me, to nominate me, for something that was probably done or created through me, as aposed to created by me,, maybe we need to reflect this type of issue. A rare bird would definately be a wonderful concept or insight , that no human would try to take credit for,,, respectfully.

As for nominating ourselves, Humanbeingflag, if you don't wish to do so, that's very much your business. My model absolutely, joyfully allows for celebration of self within the greater whole of the community. No need for (false?) humility here! Just share who you are and what you've got by placing your offerings on the altar and trust that all will unfold as divinely intended! :)))

CG Walters' blog post Ego as Spiritual Ally is very reflective of my position on the ego, which doesn't need to be repressed or eradicated--which is ultimately impossible--but brought into proper alignment with our higher, directing purpose.

LOL. :) No offense taken or intended! I was just clarifying the intention behind this project, which is designed to benefit all. "False humility" referred to a human tendency, not specifically to where you're coming from. That's why I made it parenthetical and placed a question mark afterward.

Second,,,, my work is that of a servant, a presenter.
The Purpose of the work ( Humanbeingflag) is why I serve.
I am presenting, and also leaving the results up to the divine creator.

Well, I thought about that too...but....then I thought....noone will nominate me in this tribe, because noone knows me. I thought, well, I hope I don't come off as sounding boastful...but....I feel as though I have contributed to the world and like the idea of being a "rare bird"...so...I wrote about myself and tried to do it as humbly as possible.
I hope others will do the same so that I am not the only person who wrote in about herself. Eeeeeek! Anyway...as Leigh said....."the celebration of self within"...and so...maybe for the first time in my life, I am actually acknowledging who I am and what I have been able to accomplish in my life. Abeit as a tool for our CREATOR... Good therapy for me now as I just went through a hellacious breakup with a man who I loved dearly and thought loved me. Nothing like being cheated on.......ugh....anyway...working on self esteem issues recently ....Have a most wonderful day and nice to meet you!

I have the great dreams of flying all the time. I believe some of them are astral travels recalled as dreams and some of them are actually dreams but whichever they are they alwasy follow a similar pattern as regards the mechanics of getting airborne and navigating. What great fun. I think it is actually possible that we could do this. We used to do it all the time on Atlantis. That was the primary mode of travel.
